Last week Jason had some work meetings in Atlanta so I went with him just for fun. I pretty much just slept in the hotel room while he worked, but I am not complaining... it was nice to do nothing! When we returned back to St George we were down 4 animals! Ditto's, Hopper, Whiskers, and a pigeon.
Meet Ditto's...
My in-laws have owned Ditto's for about 7 years. Even though she is tiny, she is pretty much the toughest dog alive! She was not afraid of anything. She also had an obsession with shoes. If you were ever at my in-laws house and your shoe was missing, you could just go look in Ditto's bed and sure enough there was your shoe! Ditto's would be all cuddled up to your shoe and she would get so mad when you went to take it back. An older couple from Mesquite wanted to purchase her so my in-laws sold her. Ditto's is going to love all the extra attention so we know she will be happy!
So that was animal number one gone...
We are currently living in my in-laws casita in their backyard. My husband and his Dad love chickens. So we currently have approximately 42 chickens in our backyard. We go out everyday and collect their eggs. They also have like three gardens and bees. It's a pretty cool setup not going to lie. Jason and I purchased 20 baby chickens last August. So we were able to watch half of them grow up! A few months ago either a raccoon or a fox tried to attack our baby chickens through the wire fence. He killed one of our babies, and one chicken survived, but he was now missing a leg. He was so tough. He seemed to manage just fine too. So we named him Hopper! While we were gone apparently the other chickens ganged up on Hopper and killed him. Sad true story. These are not actual pictures of Hopper, these are courtesy of google images. So that is our second animal down...
Our next victim is Whiskers! About November last year a client text me because she knows I am such a cat lover. Her and her husband had found a baby kitten abandoned on Bluff street. She wanted to know if I would take it! I thought it would be fun to surprise my Mom with a new kitty. So I sent the kitty to my Mom's house. She didn't think it was too funny so she sent it back down to me a few weeks later. I really didn't want the kitty with a new baby coming in April. He was just a baby, he wouldn't go outside, and he wouldn't play nice with the Trask cats. So he was always indoors. During this time we would fight a lot. We had such a love hate relationship. Gorgeous kitty, but I swear he was part devil.
He would not stay out of our Christmas tree when it was up...
He loved to take naps in our bathroom sink...
He was not afraid of water, yes he would come in the shower with us...
He was part dog... he would try and drink from the toilet which was so beyond gross. So I tried dropping the lid on him and that didn't even phase him!
He also went missing when we were in Atlanta. I miss his little face now! He was doing so good on sleeping outside and playing with the other cats. Our property goes way back to the river, and in the past the Trask's have never named their cats because the coyotes will eat them. So since he has been gone for over a week I am thinking the coyotes got to him. So Whisker's is our 3rd missing animal!
These pictures are cute just because it's Whisker's and Ditto's together!
And last but not least... the pigeon. We returned to St George Sat evening. We were hungry so we decided to go to Cafe Rio for dinner. Alan and Linda were coming with us, and they were in our back seat. It was dark outside, and we were just a few blocks from our house when Jason swerved but his back tires hit something and we felt a bump! It was a really sad sick feeling. Jason had accidentally ran over a pigeon! It was late, so what was a pigeon doing walking in the road!? He must have been suicidal! Alan was like "What was that?!" because he felt it! It made Jason so sick! On our way home from dinner we stopped, because I am disgusting like that and wanted to make sure he was dead. Sure enough he was dead. Hopefully he died fast! Poor little pigeon. So that makes our 4th animal in one week! Thanks to google images you can see what the little guy looked like!
Here is to hoping we have better luck with our Animals at the Trask home!!
