Kade and the Hair Gel

At this point in our lives, Kade is the hardest child.  He knows just how to push my buttons, then push them some more, and then come cuddle up to me and tell me how much he loves me, and kisses me.  He's just down right naughty.  If my house is quiet I get scared.

In our basement we have a  food storage room, but there is a huge section that is all hair products.  If there is a good sale I will stock up and buy tons.  Twice in one week Kade went downstairs into the food storage room and he opened a brand new bottle of Big Sexy hair gel, the bright blue one.  He would pour some all over his hair and come upstairs and say "Mom I shower".  I would spank his butt, throw him in the shower and as I was getting him dressed he would say, "I want Dad to come home and spank my butt" You get how naughty he is.  So after two days in one week, Jason and I kept saying how we needed to buy a lock for the food storage room.  Well parent fail, we didn't get it on soon enough.

My brother David and his wife were in town.  I was doing his wife's hair in the kitchen.  David was downstairs with Crew, Kade, and my niece Eva. They were playing so good. They were building forts, blocks, trains.  It was around 11:30am and David hadn't eaten breakfast so he came upstairs to eat.  They always play downstairs alone so I didn't think anything of it.  Well not to long after, Dionna was going downstairs to get in the shower and I hear her say, "You guys better get out, your Mom is going to be so mad" and I come look over the banister looking downstairs.  My heart sank.  Crew, Kade and Eva were covered in blue hair gel.  My carpets were blue.  The bottom stair was so blue.  I am so furious, and just wanted to cry.  They had dumped out 7 bottles of hair gel everywhere. Trails all over the carpet.  And at that moment I was so grateful I have old carpet in my house.  I threw the kids in the shower to clean them up.  I pull out the carpet shampooer to work on our huge mess.  At this point I am crying as I am shampooing the carpets and I go upstairs to check on the boys and parent fail again.  I had left a laundry basket full of clean clothes in the boys room.  Kade had dumped out all his clean clothes everywhere and was jumping on them saying, "The clothes are lava" and as I walk out into he kitchen he had gotten into my expensive "Dave's Killer bread" and broke up pieces and threw it all over the kitchen/family room.  I just lost it.  I was grateful David was there, and for the fact he was going back to Salt Lake City that day.  I called my Mom and asked if she could take Kade.  I needed a break.  I am so grateful for her willingness to take him on such a spur of the moment.  I packed his bags, and I just keep crying and just like that he was gone.  David and Dionna would drop him off at my parents home.  After about 5 hours of shampooing the carpets, it pretty much looks like it never happened.  We had to rip out the original carpet from the food storage room, but the rest of the carpet we were able to recover.

These pictures where from the two days in a row.  I didn't take any pictures from the 7 bottles...

He looks so sweet.  Looks can be deceiving.  His bags were packed and he was headed to Grandma Gayle's house.  I later questioned my parenting, hoping he didn't think he was being rewarded.  It was really just that I needed a break.

My Dad and Kade have such a special bond.  They don't see each other that often, but I love how he idolizes my Dad.  However, my Dad was such a hellion when he was little so I think that's why they get along so great.  My parents went to a square dancing class, and they took Kade with him.  This picture makes me laugh so hard whenever I look at it.  His smirk on his face.  All these old people and Kade just dancing.  Adorable.

My parents got him on Tuesday the 12th and they kept him until Saturday night when they came and dropped him off.  I am still so grateful for my parents.  I missed him, and was so excited to see him, but I need help parenting this one.  And again when he got home he totally worked me over.  He kept coming and hugging me saying, "I missed you Mommy"  I love this kid so much.  Because it was Saturday, and kids eat free at Denny's on Saturdays we took the boys out to Denny's.  It was fun to be a whole happy family again.

Crew is 4

I can no longer say I have three boys all under the age of 3. Crew is 4! I love being his Mom.  He is so funny, tender hearted, and such a people pleaser.  He loves his brothers so much.  We decided to throw a birthday party.  It sounded like a fun idea, but really is so much work.  Between his friends at church, preschool, and daycare we had 20 kids show up.  So pretty much organized chaos, or just chaos.  I tried taking as many pictures as I could just to document it, but there wasn't much time for pictures.  I wish we would have gotten a group picture!

We did a Superhero theme.  Crew is obsessed with Batman, Superman, and Spider man right now.  So we had the house decorated in balloons and streamers.  We started with them coloring their own superhero masks.  Then we went outside and we had cans of silly string where they were trying to spray the spider webs.  The kids loved this part.  Silly string flying everywhere.  We played "Pin the bat on Batman", we had a Spider man PiƱata.  We ordered pizza and had a Superhero cake.  Even though it was a lot of work, watching Crew's excited face makes it all worth it.

Happy Birthday Crew A Boo - We love you so much!
