Indio, CA

My parents are WorldMark Time Share owners, and my Mom added me to her account to use "bonus time" where we can get super cheap rooms.  This resort in Indio CA is one of their most popular resorts.  In July, there is a 2 week time frame where it's the cheapest rates all year long, so we went during the cheapest and hottest time of the year!  It was a blast!
So last weekend Jason, Crew, my brother JJ, and Jason's sister Heather and her cute family came with us!  We left Thursday afternoon and drove to California.  It's a really boring drive... you exit just past the California State line and drive off into the desert with no cell service and after you drive forever you run into one random gas station in the middle of nowhere!   It felt like forever driving in the desert, then all of a sudden we were in 29 Palms, then you can jump on a freeway which will take you to Indio! Yay finally we were to our destination!
The resort was gorgeous!  It had several pools, a lazy river, splash pad, parks, and tennis courts.  I am sure it had tons more but that's what we used!  All units have a fully stocked kitchen so we hit up a grocery store close by and purchased lots of food and drinks so we could be lazy all day!  We would go swimming after breakfast, come back for lunch and usually take a nap while it was so hot and then go back out after our naps, then come back in for dinner.  After the kids were down in bed the adults would stay up playing board games like Sequence, Solitaire Frenzie, or Phase 10 while eating root beer floats and popcorn!  It turned out to be a really fun vacation, and Jason and I think this could be a annual little getaway!

Crew all dressed up in his swimming suit!

And Crew just is obsessed with his tongue lately...

The splash pad was so cold but it felt so good too!

4th of July

The 4th of July is one of my most favorite holidays!  We seriously had so much fun this year!  We started our day off by setting our alarm to go run a 5K... who does that right?!  Our Stake was putting on a 5K and my Sister-in-law Brittany, my Brother-in-law Brandon, my Father-in-law, Jason, Crew and I all ran in the 5K.  When I say ran, I mean power walked!  It was a lot of fun and there were a lot of people there to participate.

After our 5K we went to my In-Laws where Linda cooked everyone waffles and scrambled eggs.  After breakfast we had a nap and then went over to Brittany's to go swimming.  This was Crew's first time wearing his swimmer!  He is so dang handsome I just want to eat him up!

Look how chubby his little legs are getting!

Jason kept pushing the little babies around the pool in Heather's amazing stroller!  This kept Eva, Brielle, and Crew happy!

After we went swimming we went home and got ready for the firework show!  SkyWest was a huge sponsor for the show so we had some amazing seats at the Sun Bowl.  We had a catered dinner that we could choose between Brick Oven Pizza or Dickeys Barbeque.  They had a live band, South of Graceland, perform while we waited for the sun to go down.

Bailee jumped in front of the camera while Jason was taking pictures of Crew! I love this picture!

I love this country.  We are so blessed to live where we have so much freedom.  I am so grateful for all the men and women who serve this country.  God Bless America.
